My TV - Truly A Pandora's Box

For over a year of my stay at Bangalore, I didn't have a TV at home. It might come as a surprise to many of you. Especially so since even the most rural villages boast of 100% population owning TV's. Well, I just want to say that I never felt the need to buy one. As a matter of fact, it was a conscious decision on my part not to invest in a TV. During the last 1 year or so that I've not had a TV, I have had so much time on my hands that I've been able to explore a multitude of things I've wanted to try out. Reading, Blogging, Movies, DJ'ing, Product Development, Marketing Strategies, etc, etc, etc.

At times, I must confess, it did feel like a big handicap when the TV was not around to console me. Because, after all, you can only read a book or watch a movie or blog so much, and beyond that, it becomes boring. But, still, not having a TV at home, did afford me a lot of luxury in the form of time, which I utilized to maximum possible.

Ever since I've moved back to Cochin, I've been so glued to the "Idiot Box" that I haven't even unpacked properly (Might I add - It's been 4 days since I arrived here!). I miss a lot of appointments thanks to the "Channel Surfing" habbit that I am slowly developing. I've come to reality with the harsh reality that as the days pass, I am becoming more and more lazy. Also, thanks to the comfortable sofa in front of the TV (courtesy Dad), and the good food stocked on the dining table (courtesy Mom) - there is every possibility that I'll add a lot many more kilos to my already rather large frame!

I think, it's high time I shake myself out of this silly habbit, and try to go back to my good old days. I am not unaware that this is easier said than done. But, I have to try as hard as I can. For my own good!

Wish me luck mate!
