Movie Review - Mummy 3

After the runaway success of Mummy 1 and 2, when I heard that Mummy 3 had been released, I was just dying to see it.
Honestly, it just didn't live upto my expectations.

From the start itself, the movie fails to entice the audiences attention. The movie starts of depicting the cruelity of the Dragon Emperor, and how he was cursed by a witch and thereby turned into stone, and how if he is awakened he will destroy all mankind (seriously .... what is with this. It seems all mummies have the same motto in live. Arise - and then conquer the world!).
The portrayal of the The Dragon Emperor makes him look like a novice next to the fiends in the previous parts - namely - Imhotep and Scorpion King.

Next, Brendan Frassier looks really old in this movie. Seriously!
He just isn't able to do justice to his role.

Next, Rachel Weiz has been replaced by a new actress. And this, me being attracted to Rachel Weiz (just her looks i.e.), was kindda difficult to accept. Atleast for the first 20 minutes of the movie.

Next, humour is virtually non-existant in this movie.
(The one or two instances of comedy were very poorly timed)

Next, the screenplay is nowhere near anything like the 1st and 2nd parts. It's, for a lack of a better word, Lackluster.

Next, the graphics looks cartoony. Forget Impressive - It's doesnt even convince one.

Next, the script is REALLY REALLY weak!
I think the producers just tried to cash in on the "Mummy" brand one last time - even though they knew that the script was not good enough. But, unfortunately, they failed miserably!

On the whole, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this movie a measly 2. In other words - it's an avoidable movie.
